Pyongyang, September 5 (KCNA) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea boasts of many military songs, which lively represent the heroic spirit of the Korean People's Army. Among them is the "Song of the Korean People's Army", created in Juche 57 (1968). The song features the morale and invincible strength of the KPA that has inherited the brilliant traditions of the anti-Japanese armed struggle led by the great Generalissimo Kim Il Sung and is entrusted with lofty mission to defend the Party, leader, country and people. The song has encouraged the KPA soldiers in military training and socialist construction. "Leader, Just Give Us Your Order" and "We Will Hold Arms More Tightly" are songs created in the 1970s when the Korean Peninsula was under the touch-and-go situation due to the Panmunjom incident orchestrated by the U.S. imperialists. Encouraged by the songs, the army and people of the DPRK strikingly demonstrated their will to deal an annihilating blow to the U.S. provokers. "Song of the Korean People's Army" has been played in celebration art performances, military parades and meetings, calling upon the Korean people to turn out in defending the country. The military songs play a big role in inspiring the KPA to uphold the Party's Songun (military-first) politics and urging the whole society to keep to the road of socialism. Marshal Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the KPA, when guiding a concert of the KPA Brass Band a few days ago, said that "Song of the Korean People's Army" touches the heartstring of the people and that the KPA would advance along with the band's songs, when it is ordered to launch a great war for national reunification. |
