Displayed in the venue were photos of his visit to the Northeastern Region of China, his feats performed in the Songun revolutionary leadership and his revolutionary career.

Also on display there were works of the peerlessly great men and books and photos showing the achievements made by the Korean people in building a thriving nation.

Present at the opening ceremony were officials and masses of the city, staff members of the DPRK consulate general in Shenyang and Korean officials working in Daqing City.

Speeches were made at the ceremony.

The deputy mayor of the city said that it is in the common interests of the two parties and two peoples to carry forward and develop generation after generation the traditional Sino-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations provided by the leaders of the elder generation of the two countries.

We will together with Korean comrades boost the Sino-DPRK friendly relations in the spirit of inheriting the tradition, facing up to the future, building good-neighborly friendship and strengthening cooperation, the deputy mayor added.
