The article called the history of the U.S. military presence in south Korea as one of shuddering crimes by which the sovereignty and dignity of the Korean nation were ruthlessly violated and national reunification was checked.

The U.S. ulterior intention is to turn south Korea into its colonial military base and stronghold for invading the whole of Korea and, furthermore, seize supremacy over the Asian-Pacific region.

After taking over south Korea, the U.S. let its old stooges to hold control of all fields of policy, economy, military and culture to make them serve its aggression purpose. Meanwhile it equipped puppet forces with modern war means to prod them to anti-DPRK provocations.

After the Korean War, it concluded "mutual defense pact" with the south Korean puppet forces in a bid to permanently hold the half of the Korean Peninsula, insisting on the nonexistent "threat of southward invasion".

By the U.S. never-changed hostile policy toward the DPRK and its military presence in south Korea, the vicious cycle of confrontation and escalation of tension has repeated and the danger of a nuclear war has reached the extremes in the Korean Peninsula.

The U.S. created the Lee Myung Bak regime opposing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration in south Korea and controlled the puppets behind the scene, fueling the ruin of relations between the north and the south and inciting war provocation rackets.

The article said a huge hurdle will remain in the road for detente and peace in the peninsula and the improvement of north-south relations as long as the U.S. forces are present in south Korea, strengthening their political and military control of it and instigating the south Korean ruling quarters to the confrontation with the DPRK.

It is an urgent task to get the U.S. forces withdrawn from the south and put an end to the pro-U.S. submissive and treacherous policy of south Korean conservatives, said the article.
