On this occasion the Korean people are recalling the enduring feats performed by him for state building.

In the days of the anti-Japanese armed struggle, Kim Il Sung established traditions of building a people's power after advancing the idea and line on building a Juche-based power.

Even under the complex situation just after the country's liberation from the Japanese colonial rule, he maintained the idea of national independence and worked heart and soul to rally all the countrymen by dint of distinguished statecraft and great generosity.

He declared the founding of the DPRK on Sept. 9, Juche 37 (1948), on the basis of solid political and military foundations for building an independent and sovereign state.

The founding signaled the birth of people's country, socialist Korea, for the first time in the East and paved a way for building the Juche-based socialist nation.

Since then, the country has developed into a full-fledged independent and sovereign state.

Basing himself on the Juche idea, Kim Il Sung turned the DPRK government into a power that represents the independent rights of the popular masses, ensures their creative abilities and activities and protects their interests.

The DPRK owes itself to the outstanding idea and leadership of the President, and it will always shine with his idea and cause.
