Thanks to the President, who liberated the country through a protracted hard-fought anti-Japanese armed struggle, the Koreans in Japan could become honorable overseas members of an independent sovereign state and set a worldwide model in the overseas Koreans' movement, firmly rallied around Chongryon, said the message.

Kim Jong Il reared the officials of Chongryon to be genuine comrades during the period of harsh trial, helped the body get more firm unity and resolutely rejected the reactionaries inside and outside Japan in the name of the DPRK and on international arena.
