Present there on invitation were Ambassador Ji Jae Ryong and staff members of the DPRK embassy in Beijing.

Present there were Wu Donghe, chairman of the China－Korea Friendship Association, Peng Zuoku, vice-president of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, officials in various fields including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the International Liaison Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Ministry of National Defense and the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

Wu Donghe said in his speech that the Korean people have achieved laudable successes in socialist construction under the leadership of President Kim Il Sung, General Secretary Kim Jong Il and the Workers' Party of Korea over the past 64 years.

He went on:

The Korean people have exerted efforts for the building of a thriving nation, thus achieving successes in economic development, in the efforts to improve the people's living standard and the expansion of exchange with other countries by displaying the spirit of fortitude, rallied close around First Secretary Kim Jong Un and the WPK.

It is the steadfast strategic policy of the CPC and the government to steadily boost the Sino-DPRK relations of good neighborliness, friendship and cooperation.

The Sino-DPRK friendly and cooperative relations are expanding to wide fields and the traditional Sino-DPRK friendship will shine forever generation after generation under the common concern of the two leaders.

Ji Jae Ryong referred to the founding and development of the DPRK by President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, adding that immortal feats performed by the peerlessly great men will shine forever along with prosperous Kim Il Sung's nation and Kim Jong Il's Korea.

He went on:

Their ideals are being put into practice under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.

The revolutionary cause of Juche started in Mt. Paektu is sure to be accomplished generation after generation thanks to the invincible revolutionary forces and the ranks of all service personnel and people rallied single-mindedly around Kim Jong Un, peerlessly brilliant commander.

Reiterating the will of the Korean people to make positive efforts to develop the DPRK-China friendly relations together with Chinese comrades, he expressed belief that the Chinese people would successfully greet the 18th Congress of the CPC.
