Displayed in its venue were works of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il, books on their undying feats, books introducing the DPRK and books on various fields.

An opening ceremony of the exhibition was held on September 7.

Present there were officials of the General Administration of Press and Publication of China, State Nationalities Affairs Commission, Nationalities Publishing House and Central University for Nationalities and other officials concerned, members of the delegation of the Korea Publications Import and Export Company and the delegation of the Social Science Book Publishing House and an official of the DPRK embassy in Beijing.

Speeches were made at the opening ceremony.

The president and editor-in-chief of the Nationalities Publishing House of China and other speakers said that the exhibition would be of important significance in promoting understanding between the two peoples, deepening friendship and boosting exchange in the press fields.

Books will help Chinese people get deeper understanding of the DPRK and learn the long history and brilliant culture of Korea, they noted.

The two peoples have long supported and helped each other and deepened friendship, they said, expressing their will to steadily develop the Sino-DPRK friendship through book and press exchange and academic researches.
