Displayed in the venue of the event were photos of President Kim Il Sung receiving overseas Koreans and photos of leader Kim Jong Il and the dear respected Kim Jong Un inspecting units of the Korean People's Army.

Also on display were photos showing progress in Songun Korea.

Ju Yong Il, chairman of the "Old Men" Association for Korean Cultural Tradition in Uzbekistan, in his speech said that the founding of the DPRK helped the Korean people become full-fledged masters of an independent and sovereign state and independently and creatively hew out their destiny. He noted:

The DPRK has turned into a socialist power independent in politics, self-supporting in the economy and self-reliant in national defence and an invincible socialist fortress under the wise leadership of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il.

Rosy is the future of the DPRK and sure is the cause of building a thriving nation and reunifying the country as there is Kim Jong Un.

All overseas Koreans should turn out as one in the drive for the reunification and prosperity of the country under the uplifted banner of the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The speech was followed by an art performance.
