Ryongnamsan TV Channel of DPRK Popular among Students

Pyongyang, September 12 (KCNA) -- The Ryongnamsan TV channel was launched in the Democratic People's Republic of Korea on Sept. 5, enjoying great popularity among local people, university students in particular. So Kyong Il, 21, a student of Kim Il Sung University, told KCNA: "Through the channel, I have learned about latest scientific and technological achievements made throughout the world. It gives big help to students in deepening their knowledge and carrying on scientific research work." Ra Chol, 24, a student of Kim Hyong Jik University of Education, said: "The channel includes programs on latest science and technology in engineering faculty. It also offers scientific and technological data helpful to students' scientific research, which can be obtained only at e-libraries of Kim Il Sung University and Kim Chaek University of Technology and the Grand People's Study House." Pak Ok Hyang, 20, a student of Pyongyang Jang Chol Gu University of Commerce, said: "We, students, are very interested in this channel. The channel gives wide knowledge and common sense on social sciences. Diverse programs on English, Chinese and Russian languages and foreign features films are helpful to deepening the study of foreign languages. It also broadcasts performances of student art groups and student sports contests." |
