DPRK, Chinese Young People Hold Friendly Meeting

Pyongyang, September 13 (KCNA) -- Young people of the DPRK and China held a joint friendly meeting at the Central Youth Hall Thursday. Present there were officials of the C. C., the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League including Vice-Chairman Kil Chol Hyok, officials of the youth league here, youth and students in the city of Pyongyang, members of the youth friendship delegation of China led by Wang Hongyan, member of the Secretariat of the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China, and staff members of the Chinese embassy here. Speeches were made at the meeting. Speakers said that the traditional bilateral friendly ties provided by leaders of the elder generation of the two countries are growing stronger generation after generation and century after century. The young people of the two countries are entrusted with a heavy yet honorable task for invariably inheriting and developing the DPRK-China friendship, their common wealth, the speakers said, adding the future of the friendship depends on the young people, the master of the future. They stressed the need to further deepen friendly feelings between the peoples and young peoples of the two countries. They expressed belief that the meeting will offer an important occasion for deepening the mutual understanding and friendship and developing the friendly relations between youth bodies. An art performance was given by the art squad of the Central Committee of the Kim Il Sung Socialist Youth League and young artistes of China. The performers vividly portrayed the young people of the DPRK who perform heroic feats while going through thick and thin in hearty response to the call of the Workers' Party of Korea. They represented well the firm will of the young Chinese people to make a positive contribution to building a socialist society with Chinese characteristics true to the leadership of the Communist Party of China. There was a dancing party of young people of the two countries. |
