Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- British social bodies released a joint statement on Sept. 1 to express support for the just stand of the DPRK clarified in the memorandum of its Foreign Ministry. The organizations include the British Association for the Study of Songun Policy, the British Group for the Study of the Juche Idea and the British Branch of the Korean Friendship Association. The statement noted that the U.S. imperialists' hostile policy toward the DPRK is the root cause of the nuclear issue of the Korean Peninsula. The U.S. has never stopped such a policy so far, it said, adding: It has grossly violated the 1953 Armistice Agreement immediately after it was concluded. It has persistently pursued the hostile policy in violation of the 1994 DPRK-U.S. Agreed Framework, agreements reached at the six-party talks and the Feb. 29 agreement this year, the statement said. The U.S. tried to use nukes against the DPRK several times and after singling it out as the target of a preemptive nuclear strike, the U.S. has increased the nuclear threat to the DPRK, it noted. The U.S. has imposed sanctions on the DPRK one after another and let the UN Security Council adopt a resolution on slapping sanctions against it, the statement said. As long as the U.S. nuclear threat to the DPRK goes on, it will further bolster its nuclear deterrent, the statement concluded. |
