9th National Folk Games of Agricultural Workers Held

Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- The 9th national folk games of agricultural workers closed on Friday. They were opened at the Moranbong Pleasure Park on Wednesday on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the DPRK.

The games brought together more than 300 agricultural workers selected at provincial contests. The participants competed in Taekwon-Do, Korean wrestling (ssirum), yut-game, swing and seesawing events.

Korean wrestling contests drew keen attention of people.

Namap Cooperative Farm of Yomju County, North Phyongan Province came first in Korean wrestling.

The Stock Farm in Hwangju County, North Hwanghae Province proved successful in Taekwon-Do, Jongbang Cooperative Farm in Sariwon City, North Hwanghae Province in yut-game, and Sinam Cooperative Farm in Ryongchon County, North Phyongan Province in seesawing and swing events.

North Hwanghae Province placed first in provincial standings.

Commendations, silk banners, cups and medals went to those organizations and participants that proved successful.
