On June 20 Kim Sun Nyo who had gotten second-third degrees burns on 50 percent of her body was admitted to the hospital.

The medical staff succeeded in relieving her of shock thanks to their intensive care though her recovery was believed to be impossible at the outset.

Skin grafting began 18 days later.

During the operations more than 200 people including officials, doctors and nurses of the hospital vied with each other to come to the operation room and unhesitatingly donated their skin to her.
