Pyongyang, September 14 (KCNA) -- The military attaches corps here toured the area of Mt. Paektu from Sept. 12 to 14 on the occasion of the 52nd anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's start of the Songun revolutionary leadership. They visited the Samjiyon Grand Monument where they laid a floral basket before the statue of President Kim Il Sung before paying tribute to him in deep reverence. They looked round various group sculptures there. Then they visited Kim Jong Il's birthplace in the Paektusan secret camp. Being briefed on the fact that Kim Jong Il was born in a log cabin, nurturing the spirit of Paektu, they looked round historic relics. Military Attache of the Iranian embassy Hassan Reza Husseini, doyen of the military attaches corps, wrote in a visitor's book that he was honored to visit the log cabin of the headquarters where Kim Il Sung worked and the birthplace of Kim Jong Il in the Paektusan secret camp, adding the visit to those places helped him know better about the revolutionary history of the peerlessly great persons. Zhang Ping, military, naval and air attache of the Chinese embassy, said: The Paektusan secret camp is a holy land of revolution. Kim Jong Il trained matchless pluck and gained wisdom, experiencing the harsh trials of the hard-fought great anti-Japanese war. He grew as a great revolutionary, hearing the gunfire during the war. The army and people of the DPRK are waging a vigorous struggle, displaying the revolutionary spirit of Mt. Paektu. I am sure that the people of the DPRK would register great successes in building a thriving socialist nation under the guidance of the dear respected Kim Jong Un. Members of the military attaches corps climbed Mt. Paektu, the holy mountain of revolution. They overlooked the grand spectacle of the holy mountain, the spectacular shore of the Lake Chon and the mountain ranges on the top of the mountain.
