Ri Jo Won, a student at Sinuiju University of Light Industry in North Phyongan Province, took the title at the open-category event in the tournament, becoming the winner for four consecutive years.

The open-category event brought together 20 wrestlers, in which the reigning champion defeated the opponents by fully displaying his special skills, belly grab and overturning.

Ri, who was awarded one-tonnage bull together with golden cowbell, told KCNA that he would defend his championship in the next tournament.

North Phyongan Province finished first, Pyongyang City second and Kangwon Province third in the team event.
