Present there were delegations and delegates from more than 190 countries and regions including the DPRK.

Former Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic was elected president of the session.

The session will discuss wide-ranging problems including peace, security, disarmament and human rights.

The 66th session of the UN General Assembly was closed on Sept. 17.
