8 000 troops, more than 200 military vehicles, about 100 artillery pieces, about 10 warships and other vessels were involved in the drills which will last till Saturday.

The basic goal of the drills is to improve the practical ability of the commanding officers and the staffs, use promising automated commanding system and adapt the military units to the plain conditions of using high precision and new type weapons.
