Each district of the city has cultivated good species of saplings in its nursery to provide plants needed for hedges.

Quick hedges are made of shrubs or high trees in parks, pleasure grounds, gardens, green belts, compounds of institutions and residential quarters.

They are wall-shaped, block-shaped, pillar-shaped and tier-shaped.

Yang Chol Ho, chief engineer of the Horticultural Management Bureau under the Pyongyang City People's Committee, told KCNA:

"Hedging in the capital city will be finished by next September, thanks to the citizens' patriotic, devoted efforts for the prosperity of the country."
