The main purpose of the puppet military is to build the naval base for ensuring the entry and departure of U.S. nuclear carriers.

Rodong Sinmun Saturday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard:

This clearly indicates that the Lee group of traitors is set to offer the island to the U.S. as a bridgehead for carrying out its strategy for hegemony and a nuclear outpost.

The regime's reckless construction of the base is a grave action against the nation and peace as it is aimed not only at further escalating the military confrontation and tension between the north and the south of Korea, backed by foreign forces keen to realize the ambition to put the whole world under its control, but at pushing the situation on the Korean Peninsula and in the rest of Northeast Asia to an extreme pitch of tension.

While pushing forward the construction of the base, the regime seeks to organize a Jeju unit under the Marine Corps and deploy a task fleet, a flotilla of submarines, a flotilla for supporting the ground forces, air search unit and fighter squadron in its area in a bid to turn the island into a fortress.

As seen above, it is a very dangerous move of the group to build such large naval base so that a super-large nuclear carrier flotilla may enter the island.

This is the very reason why the Lee regime is building the base with an investment of huge funds defying strong public protest and condemnation.

By making the construction project irreversible during the tenure of its office the regime seeks to garner support from the U.S. and the pro-U.S. conservative forces in an effort to stay in power.

The desperate efforts of traitor Lee Myung Bak and the group of "the Saenuri Party" to seek a way out in going ahead with the above-said construction project would only bring to bolder relief their ugly true colors as nuclear war servants for foreign forces.
