In a declaration the organization said the true driving force for the movement for independent and peaceful reunification is all the people including workers, peasants, youth, students and intellectuals of conscience.

The Lee Myung Bak regime is creating difficulties, while deepening the crisis through anti-reunification actions and war maneuvers against the north but all the people will make a more dynamic advance for independent and peaceful reunification, the declaration noted.

It pointed out that the organization would take the lead in the mass practical actions to implement the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and, for the present, reject the anachronistic forces for confrontation with the north in this year's "presidential" election and open a new phase of independent and peaceful reunification.

It underlined the need to bring the reunification movement closer to the reality and expand and intensify it on a more popular basis.

It expressed the will to take the road of reunification to the end in one mind for national reconciliation, cooperation and co-prosperity.
