The showplace puts on display foodstuffs, articles of daily use and garments made at factories under the Ministry of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industry.

Seen on the first floor of the exhibition house are various bicycles for adults and children and several hundred kinds of foodstuffs presented by the Pyongyang Joint Venture Bicycle Factory, Sonhung Foodstuff Factory, Pyongyang Flour-Processing Factory and Pyongyang Cornstarch Factory.

On the second floor are varieties of daily necessities, school things, footwear, bags, cosmetics and household appliances manufactured by the Pyongyang Daily Necessities Factory, Pyongyang Mechanical Pencil Factory, Sinuiju Enameled Ironware Factory and other factories.

Women have deep interest in such foodstuff as instant rice and glutinous rice-cake flour, Cosmos-trademarked hairpins and Unhasu and Pomhyanggi-trademarked cosmetics.

Sonu Myong Hui, manager of the exhibition house, told KCNA:

"The exhibition house was built to help raise competitiveness among factories under the Ministry of Foodstuff and Daily Necessities Industry and timely make products suitable to the consumers' demand, as intended by leader Kim Jong Il who cared so much for the people's livelihood in his lifetime.

It also carries on commercial activities."
