Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says this in a bylined article.

The U.S., the world's biggest possessor of nuclear weapons, has worked hard to swallow up the DPRK. This compelled the latter to have access to nuclear weapons to cope with this threat.

Gone are the days never to return when the U.S. could threaten and blackmail the DPRK with its A-bombs.

The Korean People's Army has diverse strategies and tactics for coping with any battle and surprise war of aggression and is fully prepared spiritually and physically. It has not only every means of attack and defence capable of beating back aggression of any formidable enemy but capability for merciless strike. This is the military and technological features of the KPA and the advantages of the DPRK's capability for self-defence.

If a war breaks out in the peninsula, it will certainly spill over to Asia and different parts of the world and develop into even a nuclear war.

The U.S. imperialists dared not ignite another war in the peninsula because the DPRK has bolstered up its capability for self-defence while resolutely standing up against their reckless moves for aggression.

To prevent a war and ensure peace in the peninsula is a key link in the chain efforts for ensuring peace in Asia and the rest of the world. If an atmosphere of peace prevails in the peninsula, it will help make Asia and the rest of the world stable.

The army and people of the DPRK will as always defend their socialism and creditably ensure peace and security in the Korean Peninsula and the rest of Asia with their capability for self-defence.
