Educators in DPRK Inspired by SPA Ordinance

Pyongyang, September 25 (KCNA) -- An ordinance of the DPRK Supreme People's Assembly on enforcing the universal 12-year compulsory education was promulgated at the Sixth Session of the 12th SPA held here on Tuesday. In this regard, KCNA met professors at Kim Hyong Jik University of Education. Pak Chang Hak, vice-president of the university, said: "The Sixth Session of the 12th SPA, which was held today with the dear respected Kim Jong Un in attendance, adopted an ordinance on enforcing the universal 12-year compulsory education in the country. This is a great event of weight significance in the history of development of the Juche-based education. The universal 12-year compulsory education is the most reasonable and best one as it helps radically improve the quality of education, as required by the era of knowledge-based economy and the world tendency, and thus train the rising generations to be talents of Juche type equipped with perfect secondary general knowledge and modern basic technological knowledge as well as creative ability. The ordinance makes it possible to further improve the country's socialist education system, provided by Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il, in keeping with the developing situation. It reflects the noble intention and will of the dear respected Kim Jong Un to build most civilized and developed, thriving socialist country by dint of education and knowledge with the noble outlook on posterity." Yun Tong Il, a faculty dean of the university, said: "Each country is paying deep attention to educational work in the present era, the era of knowledge-based economy. We, educators, are faced with an honorable task to train the younger generations to be masters of a civilized socialist country and dependable pillars of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il's Korea proudly advancing forward. Cherishing Kim Jong Un's deep trust in educators, we will do our best to produce more talents who will bring a great turn in the nation's education." |
