This is a significant year to be specially recorded in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea and the revolution and in the history of the drive for building a thriving nation, the editorial says, and goes on:

Having the dear respected Kim Jong Un at the top posts of the WPK and the state marked a historic event which brought about an epochal turn in the drive to accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche and achieve final victory in the building of a thriving nation. This year the DPRK splendidly greeted the centenary of the birth of President Kim Il Sung as a grand national auspicious event amid high political enthusiasm of all service personnel and people. The celebrations of the anniversary of the Korean Children's Union, the day of victory in the Fatherland Liberation War and the Youth Day strikingly demonstrated the might of single-minded unity of the revolutionary ranks in which all Koreans are united close around Marshal Kim Jong Un.

The Korean people have waged a dynamic drive since the outset of the year, true to the decision of the Political Bureau of the WPK Central Committee, the joint calls of the Central Committee and Central Military Commission of the WPK and the joint editorial.

All servicepersons and people turned sorrow into thousand-fold strength and courage, fully displaying their revolutionary enthusiasm to decorate the first year of the new centenary of Juche with laudable victory under the leadership of Kim Jong Un. There appeared Changjon Street and Rungna People's Pleasure Park as monumental edifices in the era of Songun and modern production bases conducive to the building of an economic power and the improvement of people's living standard in different parts of the country. A large number of workers have honored their yearly plans.

It is important to successfully conclude this year's drive in order to consolidate all the achievements made so far and win greater victories. Success in the future drive for final victory in the building of a thriving nation would depend on how to conclude this year's drive.

The editorial calls on the Korean people to win shining victory in the on-going general offensive and thus demonstrate once again before the whole world the might of their single-minded unity around the great illustrious commander of Songun and their revolutionary mettle to do everything unconditionally once the Party is determined.
