The Democratic Action for Eliminating Remnants of "yusin" and Justice of History said that Park's apology was nothing but an artifice to put under control the situation turning unfavorable to her.

The Society for Inheriting Spirit of the National Democratic Youths and Students League in its statement noted that if the expression of apology by the candidate from the "Saenuri Party" was sincere, the Lee Myung Bak regime should restart the work of the Committee for Settling the Past History for Truth and Reconciliation and thus positively opt for probing the truth and reinstating the victims.

Recalling that the ruling party has hamstrung a proper settlement of the past history since the days of the "Grand National Party," the organization urged the party to show its sincerity by making a switchover in such stand.
