The statement said:

The U.S. recently announced that it will set up a new radar base in Japan under the pretext of "threat of missile attack from north Korea" and the south Korean puppet forces perpetrated such military provocation as firing bullets and shells at civilian fishing boats after intruding into territorial waters of the DPRK side in the West Sea.

This vividly shows the aggressive and despicable nature of the U.S. seeking to bring profits to its munitions monopolies through arms buildup and of the south Korean warmongers intent on igniting a new war on the Korean Peninsula.

The DPRK will bolster its nuclear deterrent as befitting the "rival" of the U.S. and counter the enemies' war provocation with sacred war of national reunification.

We bitterly condemn the U.S. imperialists and their stooges for their provocation against the DPRK.

We fully support the answer given by a spokesman for the DPRK Foreign Ministry and the press release made public by the Southwestern Front Command of the Korean People's Army.
