The statement recalled that the U.S. imperialists brutally suppressed and killed Koreans after illegally occupying south Korea on Sept. 8, 1945.

They perpetrated such hideous crime as dividing Korea with a history of 5 000 years into two parts.

The U.S. military presence in south Korea is the main factor of Korea's division.

Over the last 67 years since their occupation, the U.S. forces have brought misfortune and pain to the Korean nation and brutally suppressed south Korean people.

The U.S. forces in south Korea are making no scruple of committing killing, rape, theft and drug trafficking and other crimes, while enjoying extraterritorial rights.

South Korea is forced to pay huge amount of money for the upkeep of the U.S. forces and their military bases.

The U.S. military presence in south Korea has strained the situation on the Korean Peninsula and threatened peace.

This is the most vivid expression of the U.S. hostile policy toward the DPRK.

The U.S. is working hard not only to perpetuate its forces' presence in south Korea but also put the whole of Korea under its control and use it as a military springboard for dominating the Asian continent.

The Korean nation never requires the U.S. military presence in south Korea.

We demand the U.S. forces withdraw from south Korea, taking with them destructive weapons.
