The speakers said the contest was kicked off on the occasion oif the anniversary of the October 4 declaration last year in reflection of the desire for peace and national reunification of the youth and students.

The second basketball contest this year has drawn a great number of youth and students, they noted.

The youth and students should play a main role in the movement for peaceful reunification of Korea, they said, adding the sweats shed by the youth and students will pay off in opening the gate to the reunification.

They voiced their hope to see the improvement in the south-north relations and hold games with youth and students from the north and abroad.
