The present south Korean regime totally denied the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration from the outset of its office and continuously plotted sordid cases, typically the "Cheonan" warship sinking.

It even dared to disparage the supreme dignity of the Korean nation, which Koreans value more than their lives, and slander it. This touched off a wave of anger among the Korean people.

The south Korean regime must stop the anti-DPRK smear campaign and the suppression of the patriotic reunification forces because they hamper national reconciliation and unity and go against the reunification.

Whether the north-south relations are improved or not absolutely depends on the attitude of the south Korean regime.

Even a trifling incident may lead to an all-out war in the Korean Peninsula where huge forces are standing in acute confrontation.

The south Korean authorities must end the reckless war exercises against the DPRK which they stage in collusion with the U.S. and arms build-up in order to remove the danger of the war and achieve the durable peace.

If the south Korean regime positively responds to the call of the peace-loving DPRK, it would help ensure the peace and security in the Koran Peninsula.

If it sincerely wishes for the improvement of the north-south relations and the reunification of the nation, it should not raise absurd preconditions and excuses aimed at deterring the north and the south from making reconciliation and cooperation.

It should contribute to the improvement of the north-south relations and reunification by providing the free visits and exchange of people of all strata.

The June 15 north-south joint declaration and the October 4 declaration are the banner for independent reunification and national prosperity that the whole Korean nation should invariably hold aloft.
