|
|
Pyongyang, October 4 (KCNA) -- Solar water heaters painted red and blue have been set up on the rooftops of dwelling houses, two for each house, in the village of Nam Ri, Mangyongdae, presenting the charming view of the countryside in harmony with Korean-style gabled roofs. Every family is using hot water heated to the average of 55℃ by the water heaters. Hot water runs from turned-on faucets and palm-size controllers attached to the kitchen walls indicate the water temperature. In mid-winter the lowest water temperature was 35℃ while about 70℃ in the daytime last year. Now the temperature reaches 90℃, enough for cooking. The profitable solar water heater has 1.5 square meters of the heat collection area and 80 percent of efficiency of light use. It, therefore, provides convenience to families irrespective of seasons and weather conditions. |
