The adoption of the declaration was an event of great significance in the history of the Korean nation's movement for reunification, the statement said, and went on:

The declaration is winning great support from all Koreans as it serves as a practical programme for fully embodying the June 15 joint declaration.

The inter-Korean relations have been brought to the lowest ebb and a touch-and-go situation is prevailing on the Korean Peninsula due to the south Korean authorities keen to escalate confrontation with fellow countrymen, opposed to national reconciliation, unity and reunification.

The committee extends invariable support and solidarity to the stand of the Workers' Party of Korea (WPK) and the government of the DPRK to improve and develop the inter-Korean relations by thoroughly implementing the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.
