The bulletin carried an article titled "Event to be specially recorded in the history of the Workers' Party of Korea".

It said:

The 4th conference of the WPK decided to hold Kim Jong Il in high esteem as general secretary of the WPK and glorify his revolutionary life and undying feats, reflecting the unanimous will and desire of all party members, the servicepersons of the Korean People's Army and people of the DPRK.

Kim Jong Il led the WPK to firmly adhere to its revolutionary principle.

He steadily developed the WPK into an invincible party deeply rooted among the popular masses and a mother party which formed an integral whole with the people.

The conference elected the dear respected Kim Jong Un first secretary of the WPK.

Kim Jong Un, identical to President Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il in idea, leadership art and virtues, is carrying forward the idea and line of the preceding leaders without the slightest deviation.

The WPK will be ever-victorious under the leadership of Kim Jong Un.
