The statement said that the reunification of Korea was the lifelong desire of Generalissimos Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il and it is the supreme task of all Koreans.

Under the leadership of the Generalissimos the DPRK has made positive efforts for the reunification of the country and nation, the statement noted, and went on:

The north and south of Korea adopted and made public realistic reunification proposals including the July 4 joint statement and the June 15 joint declaration.

The north-south summit held again in Pyongyang in October 2007 culminated in adopting the October 4 declaration which reaffirmed the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

However, the south Korean conservative ruling forces totally denied it, driving the inter-Korean relations to the worst phase through their treacherous anti-reunification policy of confrontation.

The DPRK has made strenuous efforts for the implementation of the June 15 North-South Joint Declaration and October 4 declaration.

The dear respected Marshal Kim Jong Un expressed firm patriotic will to join hands with anyone who truly wants the reunification of the country and peace and prosperity of the nation in order to carry out the plan of the great Generalissimos for national reunification.

The statement expressed belief that the DPRK government and people would surely win a shining victory in the struggle for the country's reunification under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un.
