Nepalese Media Introduce DPRK

Pyongyang, October 8 (KCNA) -- The Sakirmata TV Broadcasting Service aired for three days from Sept. 29 the special program on the visit to the DPRK by the International Committee for the Study of Songun Politics for Peaceful Reunification of Korea in Nepal. The reconstruction layout for Pyongyang, capital of the DPRK, which was once reduced to ashes after the war the U.S. imperialists provoked against the DPRK in 1950, was mapped out in the wartime under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung, the program said and went on: The monuments in Pyongyang demonstrate the tremendous might of the Korean people. The Tower of the Juche Idea that symbolizes the Juche idea was unveiled in 1982 on the 70th birthday of the President. Carved in relief on the body of the tower are letters "Juche". The 20 meter high torch represents the architecture of the DPRK developing day by day on the basis of Juche character and national identity. Kim Il Sung Square located in the center of the capital is well known to the world as a venue of military parades, mass meetings and lots of other national events. The Kumsusan Palace of the Sun is where the President, father of socialist Korea, and General Secretary Kim Jong Il lie in state. Korean people visit this palace to pay tribute to them. The program introduced in detail the President's old home at Mangyongdae, Arch of Triumph, Party Founding Memorial Tower, Three Charters for National Reunification Memorial Tower, Panmunjom, etc. |
