The folk tale well known in the past through a feature film and opera has been newly adapted for the acrobatic drama to contribute to the development of Juche-based literature and arts and education of people.

The drama is a good combination of all elements of circus including aerial, synchronized swimming, ground and ice stunts and magic. It makes a truthful artistic representation of the love between Chun Hyang and Mong Ryong, clearly revealing the reactionary nature of the feudal status system and successfully showcasing the beautiful ethics and morality of Koreans.

The performers successfully represented the ideological theme of the drama by use of modern stage decor and lighting, numbers such as swinging, seesawing, rope walking, balancing on the water, etc. with the use of unique methods of acrobatics including magic.

They raised the curtain at the Pyongyang Circus Theater on Monday.

It was enjoyed by officials in the fields of literature and arts and media, creators, artistes, media persons and people in Pyongyang.
