It said that the historic October 4 declaration serves as an action programme clarifying the ways for all the Koreans to achieve the national unity and reunification of the country.

The declaration includes realistic practical measures for improving the north-south relations based on the mutual respect and trust and reunifying the country through the process of ensuring the detente and peace on the Korean Peninsula by putting an end to the hostile military ties between the north and the south of Korea, the statement noted.

The tensions prevailing on the five islands in the West Sea of Korea and waters off the islands, in particular, make everyone feel the importance of the north-south agreement.

If the inter-Korean ties are to turn into those of reconciliation and cooperation and all Koreans to work toward the peace and prosperity, the north-south joint declarations should be respected, it noted.

The AAPSO expressed support and solidarity with the people of the DPRK in their just struggle for achieving independent and peaceful reunification of the country.
