Rodong Sinmun Denounces Japan's Moves to Grab Tok Islets

Pyongyang, October 12 (KCNA) -- Shortly ago, the Japanese foreign minister at New York talks said the Tok islets are "inalienable part of Japan's territory and the issue of dominium over the islets should be handled by the International Court of Justice." Moreover, a recent meeting of the international information liaison council held at the residence of the Japanese prime minister defined overseas information strategy on Tok islets as a new major task and decided to take measures to carry it out in the future. Rodong Sinmun Friday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: This is nothing but a brazen-faced action that can be perpetrated only by such wicked and shameless hoodlums of Japan. Korea cannot but be enraged at the moves of the descendents of Samurais to build up public opinion in a bid to bring the issue of dominium over the islets up before the International Court of Justice, persistently insisting that the Tok islets are part of their territory. The Japanese reactionaries are working hard to hype the "issue" of Tok islets as an international issue at a governmental level unlike the past when the issue was discussed at a non-governmental level. This behavior reminds one of barbarism committed by the Japanese aggressors against the Korean people more than a century back. It is the scenario of Japan to launch a reinvasion of Korea under the pretext of the "issue" of Tok islets. But the Japanese militarists should bear in mind that the Tok islets will always stand as inalienable part of Korea's territory. The army and people of the DPRK will never pardon the Japanese reactionaries if they keep to the wrong road, persistently raising a claim to the islets in a bid to realize their wild ambition for staging a comeback to Korea in denial and distortion of the historical and legal facts, warns the commentary. |
