Autumn All-people Movement for Land Management Brisk in DPRK
Pyongyang, October 13 (KCNA) -- An autumn all-people movement for land management is now under way across the country.

Plans for technical improvement of roads, rivers and streams have been carried out at 70-80 percent across the country and the construction and renovation of dwelling houses and public buildings made brisk headway in a short span of time since the kick-off of the movement.

Kilju and Myonggan counties of North Hamgyong Province restored in a brief span of time several dozen km long sections of roads and a number of bridges destroyed by flood.

Successes in the project for the technical improvement of roads were reported from Hochon County of South Hamgyong Province. It restored more than 20 destroyed bridges to their original state.

Jongju City and Kwaksan and Taegwan counties of North Phyongan Province face-lifted roads by widening roads, straightening their winds and paving them.

Hoeryong City of North Hamgyong Province did thousands of square meters of stone work on dykes along rivers and streams to protect a large area of cultivated land.

Yomju County of North Phyongan Province dredged more than 12 000 cubic meters of mud in Tugok Stream and did at least 7 000 square meters of stone work in the wake of its completion of Maebong Stream project in a matter of five days.

Sunan District in Pyongyang replaced the roofs of apartment houses in Yokjon-dong and changed their storm sewers, covered thousands of square meters of area with grass, paved 700 square meters of footway with small blocks, repaired over 600 meters of fences and built a zelkova tree nursery.

Kumya County of South Hamgyong Province and Kumchon County of North Hwanghae Province painted dwelling houses in their county seats. They built fences extending thousands of meters, adjusted ditches and planted flower trees and turf, sprucing up streets and villages.

Many other cities and counties are pushing forward preparations for production of saplings and autumn tree planting.
