The October 1-7 issue of the Lao paper Heng Ngan carried an article "Legacy Bequeathed by Comrade Kim Jong Il".

The article said:

He glorified the Juche idea and the Songun idea as an eternal guiding idea for Korea, the great guiding idea in the era of independence.

He formulated the revolutionary idea of President Kim Il Sung as an integral system of idea, theory and method of Juche through his extraordinary ideological and theoretical activities.

He also developed the President's idea of attaching importance to arms and military affairs as required by the era and set it forth as an invincible treasured sword for accomplishing the cause of independence.

This ideological and theoretical wealth constitutes the most valuable legacy bequeathed by him to the Korean people and the progressive mankind.

The Myanmar paper Live News on Oct. 6 devoted its one whole page to articles entitled "The Juche Idea and Kim Jong Il" and "Declaration of History."

The paper lauded the ideological and theoretical exploits of Kim Jong Il, noting that the Juche idea, recognized by the international community as a guiding ideology for the cause of independence would be unthinkable without the exploits of Kim Il Sung, its founder, and Kim Jong Il.
