Displayed in the venues of the events were photos showing the revolutionary careers and feats of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il.

Also on display were their works, books and photos introducing the DPRK and fine art pieces associated with the wisdom and skills of Koreans.

Present at the opening ceremonies of the events were officials of party and government organs and social bodies of Sichuan and Shandong provinces and masses and members of a delegation of the Korean Overseas Exhibition General Bureau.

Speeches were made there.

A senior official of Sichuan Province said he was pleased to know about the successes made by the people of the DPRK in socialist construction and sincerely congratulated them on their successes.

The speaker expressed the will to develop the wide-range exchange and visits and boost the cooperation between the two countries.

A vice-chairman of the Jinan City Political Consultative Conference of Shandong Province said that the historic China visits paid by Kim Jong Il in May and August last year marked important occasions in boosting the Sino-DPRK friendship.

The vice-chairman said that these exhibitions will offer an opportunity to know better about the personality of Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il as great men and their undying feats and world-startling miracles and innovations being brought about by the DPRK under the wise leadership of Kim Jong Un, supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.
