Kim Jong Un, who defined the idea of valuing even a blade of grass and a tree in the country as Kim Jong Il's patriotism, made up his mind to turn the whole of the country into green foliage. He gave instructions concerning turf planting on many occasions, taking a measure to establish a lawn research institute at the State Academy of Sciences.

The institute plans to cover vacant lots in cities with a new species of turf in the near future.

It has already succeeded in developing the technology of soilless turf cultivation, paving a way for creating lawn lands on a massive basis.
