Rodong Sinmun Tuesday says in a bylined article in this regard:

The June 15 joint declaration solemnly demonstrated at home and abroad the will of the Koreans to solve the issue of the country's reunification independently by their united efforts.

The declaration identified the strong independent stand that the issue of the country's reunification does not require the interference by foreign forces and the Korean nation will solve it in the spirit of "By our nation itself". Therefore, the declaration has enjoyed full support by all the Koreans.

The idea of "By our nation itself" clarified by the June 15 joint declaration has displayed its great vitality, indeed, in deepening the ties of kindred of the nation and realizing multifaceted dialogues, cooperation, reconciliation and unity among broad segments of people, irrespective of differing ideas and social systems existing in the north and the south of Korea.

The validity and attraction of the June 15 joint declaration are manifested in that it has rallied compatriots from all walks of life in the north, the south and abroad with differing ideology, political view and ism in the idea of "By our nation itself".

The October 4 declaration serves as the practical programme, action guidelines for comprehensively embodying the June 15 joint declaration.

The declaration expounds all the issues in developing the inter-Korean relations and achieving the peace on the Korean Peninsula, prosperity common to the nation and the country's reunification on the basis of reaffirming the spirit of the June 15 joint declaration.

It is the consistent stand of the DPRK to develop the inter-Korean relations and achieve the independent and peaceful reunification of the country according to the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration.

The situation shows that the Korean nation would meet disaster of a war far from improving the inter-Korean relations unless the anti-reunification forces denying the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and seeking the confrontation with compatriots are eliminated.
