Rodong Sinmun Lashes Out at Remarks of Chairman of S. Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff

Pyongyang, October 16 (KCNA) -- Jong Sung Jo, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of south Korea, made war-like outbursts on Oct. 8. He said south Korea may mount a swift preemptive attack on the north when a sign of its nuclear use is captured. On Oct. 7 he said he was pleased that south Korea has become possible to bring the whole areas of the north within the firing range, talking rubbish that there is flexibility in military counteraction, referring to the new "missile guidance agreement." Rodong Sinmun Tuesday observes in a bylined commentary in this regard: The war remarks made by Jong Sung Jo are a vivid manifestation of zeal for war provocation against the DPRK by the Lee Myung Bak regime of south Korea which is getting increasingly obvious under the patronage and support of the U.S. This has drawn only derision from the public as the regime works hard to do harm to the DPRK though its days are numbered. The regime would face more towering resentment and rage of all Koreans and more stern punishment of history as it escalates confrontation with the DPRK to prolong its remaining days. The DPRK is being compelled to show its powerful physical muscle to the warmongers who are going reckless to realize the dream of "mounting a preemptive attack" in collusion with outsiders. If the puppet forces dare ignite a war against the DPRK, their stronghold will be deluged with bullets and shells of merciless punishment. The army and people of the DPRK will clearly show Korean-style sacred war to the provokers, who are just like newborn puppies which freely wag their tongues without knowing what the real war would be like. |
