Regarding it as a fundamental issue for the victory of the revolution to build a political party since he embarked upon the road of the revolution, Kim Il Sung energetically led the work for the preparations for building the party. He made these preparations, finding himself among the people with firm belief that they are responsible for the revolution. He laid the foundation for party building by training genuine revolutionaries among the people and organizing basic party bodies.

Ranks of core elements of the party grew up in the crucible of the hard-fought anti-Japanese armed struggle and achieved unity and cohesion in thinking and purpose centering on the leader.

The undying feats and precious experience gained by Kim Il Sung in developing the Juche-based theory of party building and in building the party served as a firm foundation and guarantee for steadily developing the Workers' Party of Korea into the revolutionary party of Juche type.

Kim Il Sung and Kim Jong Il developed the WPK into a revolutionary party that takes its roots deep among the popular masses.

Kim Jong Il published famous works such as "On the Fundamentals of Revolutionary Party Building" and "The Workers' Party of Korea Is the Party of the Great Leader Comrade Kim Il Sung" in the 1990's when ruling parties were degenerated in some socialist countries and socialism collapsed. The works gave correct answers to all theoretical and practical issues arising in the revolutionary party building and activities. They serve as precious guidelines for the revolutionary parties in performing their missions and roles despite complicated situation.

The WPK is dynamically advancing along the road of socialism while conducting party building and activities under the leadership of the dear respected Kim Jong Un, holding Kim Il Sung in high esteem as its eternal leader and Kim Jong Il as its eternal general secretary.
