Important Days of DPRK Marked in Brazil, Malaysia
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Korean book, photo and handicraft exhibitions were opened in Brazil and Malaysia on Oct. 8 on the occasions of the 15th anniversary of leader Kim Jong Il's election as general secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, the 67th anniversary of the WPK and the 86th anniversary of the Down-with-Imperialism Union (DIU).

Displayed in the venues of the exhibitions were photos dealing with the shining revolutionary careers of President Kim Il Sung and leader Kim Jong Il and their immortal exploits.

On display were their works, books and photos introducing Songun Korea and handicrafts associated with the wisdom and talents of the Korean people.

Present at the opening ceremonies of the exhibition were personages of the Party for Free Motherland, the Communist Party, the Working People's Unique Centre and the Genuine Democratic Movement of Brazil, the Brasilia Federal District Government, and the National Union of Bank Employees in Malaysia. Attending it on invitation were staff members of the DPRK embassies in relevant countries.

The deputy director of the Medium Enterprises and Economic Cooperation Department of the Brasilia Federal District Government said that leader Kim Jong Il protected Korean-style socialism and provided a springboard for building a thriving nation with his original Songun politics.

The chairperson of the National Union of Bank Employees in Malaysia noted that the exhibition will offer an opportunity for deepening the friendship and understanding between the peoples of the DPRK and Malaysia and further strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation and exchange.
