Wreaths Laid before Ri Po Ik's Grave
Pyongyang, October 18 (KCNA) -- Wreaths were placed before the grave of Ri Po Ik, grandmother of President Kim Il Sung, in Mangyongdae, on Thursday, the 53rd anniversary of her passing.

Seen standing before it was a wreath sent by Kim Jong Un, first secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea, first chairman of the National Defence Commission of the DPRK and supreme commander of the Korean People's Army.

Present at the wreath-laying ceremony were Kim Jong Gak, Choe Thae Bok, Yang Hyong Sop and officials of party, armed forces and power organs, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions and Pyongyang citizens.

Placed before the grave were wreaths in the name of the Central Committee of the WPK, working people's organizations, ministries and national institutions, military universities, educational and media organizations, party and power bodies, farms, etc. in Pyongyang.

The participants paid silent tribute to her, looking back on the noble life of Ri Po Ik who helped family members in Mangyongdae take part in the struggle for national liberation and dedicated herself to the country and its people with her noble patriotism and lofty personality.
