A Chinese fisherman was shot to death by a rubber bullet fired by south Korean puppet naval police on Oct. 16. In this regard Hong said China expressed deep concern over the occurrence of such killing as a result of the violent enforcement of law by the south Korean side.

Hong strongly demanded the south Korean side investigate the case in a fair and responsible manner, severely punish the person responsible for the case, prevent the violent enforcement of law and thus guarantee the safety and legitimate rights and interests of Chinese fishermen.
