From ancient times, Koreans have called Insam growing naturally in mountains wild Insam and that under field cultivation Yangsam. Health ingredients of Yangsam are lower than wild Insam.

In the 1970s President Kim Il Sung, who found out that the home of Insam is Korea, suggested cultivating it in brushes.

As a result, Yangsam began to be cultivated in brushes in the country in the 1990s, being called Jangnoesam.

Jangnoesam is almost similar to wild Insam in ingredients and its cultivation cost low in pollution-free natural conditions.

It drew attractions of foreign Insam cultivators as soon as it came into being.

Jangnoesam won a high appreciation at an international conference on traditional pharmacology in 2006.

This medical plant is applied to various kinds of tonics and foodstuffs as well.
