S. Korean Authorities Accused of Trying to Evade Blame for Pushing Inter-Korean Relations to Collapse

Pyongyang, October 20 (KCNA) -- The south Korean authorities can never evade the blame for pushing the north-south relations to a collapse. Rodong Sinmun Saturday says this in a bylined article. The Lee Myung Bak regime's claim that it has never "negated" the inter-Korean declarations is a sheer lie and distortion of the situation, the article notes, and goes on: The regime is a group of the worst anti-reunification elements who destroyed the groundwork for inter-Korean relations by persistently negating the historic joint declarations. It raised the watchword "no nukes, opening and 3 000 dollars" with an aim to negate the June 15 joint declaration and the October 4 declaration and escalate the confrontation between the south and the north. This anti-reunification policy for confrontation drove the north-south relations, which had favorably developed, into catastrophe and threw a stumbling block in the way of national reunification. The inter-Korean relations are now in the worst phase as the Lee regime negated the north-south declarations and refused to implement them. The main reason for the collapse of the inter-Korean relations is that the regime is keen on the moves to ignite a war against the DPRK in league with outsiders. It set it as the main orientation of its "policy toward the north" to suspend dialogue and cooperation with the DPRK and put a military pressure upon it in collusion with foreign forces and has stepped up the moves to ignite a war against it. Shortly ago, the warmongers perpetrated such military provocation as firing bullets and shells even at foreign fishing boats in the waters around the five islands in the West Sea of Korea. This was a deliberate and premeditated scenario to launch an all-out war. The Lee regime will have to pay a dear price for pushing the inter-Korean relations to a total collapse though they had favorably developed since the publication of the June 15 joint declaration and bringing back the nightmare-like era of confrontation. |
