Pyongyang, October 21 (KCNA) -- Yehia Zakaria Khairullah, chairman of the Egyptian Committee for the Study of the Juche Idea, made public a statement on Oct. 15 on the occasion of the 32nd anniversary of the proposal for founding the Democratic Federal Republic of Koryo (DFRK). President Kim Il Sung set forth the proposal for founding the DFRK, the most fair and reasonable great programme for achieving the independent and peaceful reunification in Korea by reflecting the desire of the Korean nation for reunification, he said, and went on: The DPRK has made every possible effort to put the proposal into practice but the U.S. and south Korea turned it down. Consequently, military confrontation and tension still persist on the Korean Peninsula. The Korean nation is a homogeneous nation who has lived in one and the same territory for 5 000 years with a single language, culture and history. In order to achieve Korea's reunification the north and the south should place the common interests of the nation above anything else and everything should be subordinated to them and, at the same time, they should not stand in confrontation as members of the same nation. To infringe upon other side's sovereignty or antagonize each other, in particular, is as foolish an act as putting the inter-Korean relations to a collapse. We extend full support and solidarity to the Korean people in their efforts to achieve the country's reunification. The south Korean authorities should immediately stop all moves to perpetuate Korea's division in league with the U.S. and respond to the above-said proposal without delay. |
